ICI Students Chapter
Indian Concrete Institute is one of the leading professional bodies in India, catering to the professional needs of individuals and organisations involved in Concrete. Being a non-profit Organisation, it is dedicated to the cause of Disseminating Knowledge on Concrete, to Promote Concrete Technology and Construction and to address the Research Needs of Concrete. The Genesis of ICI dates back to the year 1982.
To meet the objectives of ICI, the regional Centres conduct varieties of programs like Seminars, Workshops, Conferences, Exhibitions, etc. throughout the year. These are at both National and International level. These events prove to be a unique platform, for all the stakeholders in the concrete industry, wherein Practicing Engineers, Manufacturers, Academics, Consultants and Researchers make their global participation, to discuss the issues, to share their views and experience on the concrete related matters. Thus, ICI derives the synergy amongst the various categories of people associated with concrete.
Activities of ICI Students Chapter
- A quiz competition named CRESCERE 14 was conducted on behalf of Indian Concrete Institute Kochi Chapter. Preliminary round was conducted at Amal Jyothi College of engineering on 5th of February 2014, in which 31 students participated out of which 2 students were shortlisted for the finals. Final round was conducted on 1st of March 2014 in Albertinian Institute of science and Technology Kalamassery.
- ICI concrete Cube strength competition was conducted in 2013 and 2014. Amal Jyothi was the winners for the Concrete Cube Strength Competition held in 2013. The Cube Strength Competition of this year was conducted on 25th of March 2014, under the supervision of Er. Hemanth K.T. in which 2 batches of 6 students each participated representing the college
- A mix design workshop was conducted by the ICI-students chapter of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering on 19th September 2015 which was inaugurated by Mr. M A Joseph (Technical Division Head, Kerala-Ultratech Cements)
