COMPUTER SCIENCE & ENGINEERING DEPARTMENT

The Department moulds young outstanding engineers who are academically strong in both theory and practicals. It organizes supplementary programs, which include Paper Presentations, Technical seminars and Mock Interviews to prepare the student for a career in the computing field or for graduate study. Special orientation is provided to the staff periodically for updating their acumen and to imbibe the latest technological changes. The staff and students are members of the Computer Society of India.

Computing Facilities

The computing facility of the Dept consists of a state-of-the-art network of computers with more than 330 nodes spread over 7 separate labs running with Linux & Windows servers, namely, Advanced Systems Lab, Network and Hardware Lab, Programming Lab, Project Lab, E-yantra Lab, Research Lab and Knowledge Lab.

COMPUTER SCIENCE ASSOCIATION

The Computer Science Association consists of the faculty as well as the students of both B. Tech and M. Tech. The Association encourages students to prove their worth through the annual technical and cultural festival, 'ASTHRA'. Designed to instil confidence and to inspire creativity, ASTHRA serves as a testimonial of unity in the whole Computer Science Dept. The first ASTHRA, hosted in 2006, set the benchmark in terms of quality and technology integration, and we are keen on raising the bar, year after year.

COMMUNITY EXTENSION DEVELOPMENTAL CELL (CEDC)

The Dept is at par with the latest technological developments. One of our main objectives is to extend our knowledge and resources to the community at a larger level. International Journal on Emerging Research Areas (IJERA) – ISSN 2230-9993- is a peer-reviewed journal published by the Computer Science and Engineering Department of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kerala. The journal invites research articles and review articles that converse the developments made in various emerging research fields. The scope of the journal covers various emerging areas in Engineering Science. It also encourages interdisciplinary research articles. Read more

The main objective of the conference is to create a shared platform for engineers, academics, scientists, industry professionals, researchers, and students. This platform facilitates the exchange and sharing of experiences and research findings concerning diverse aspects of cybersecurity. r4radio

‘r4radio’, a novel initiative of the Dept. of CSE, is an internet radio station from the Amal Jyothi College campus. There is a lot more to it than meets the eye. It is the first internet radio from an engineering campus in Kerala. A pioneer in the State, ‘r4radio’ was implemented under the IEDC by the National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Development Board (NSTEDB), Department of Science and Technology (DST), Government of India. The project is an independent internet radio broadcasting system which can broadcast multiple channels simultaneously. It also acts as a medium for developing the creative skills of students. Nextguard

Kerala State Council for Science, Technology, and Environment (KSCSTE) in association with Department of Computer Science & Engineering, Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally, is jointly organizing a project, named “NextGuard: Cybercrime- Community Awareness and Prevention.The basic objective is to provide awareness about cybercrimes and cyber laws to the students, parents and the public. Career Enhancement Cell (CEC)

The Career Enhancement Cell of the Dept consists of a team of highly motivated and experienced members of faculty who have a proven track record in the IT industry and academia. Two student representatives are selected from each class of CSE. It is this team which co-ordinates the placement and entrepreneurship development activities of the Dept. Development of problem- solving skills, Communication and behavioural skills, and Tech and Domain skills are some of the major areas of concentration. Read more

AAKASH RESEARCH CENTRE

The Dept has got an opportunity to partner in research and to deploy the Aakash tablets with two objectives. The first is to test and enhance the effectiveness of these tablets for use in classrooms. The second is the development of new educational applications and contents on Aakash, largely through final year Research and Development projects by B.Tech and M.Tech students of the department.
