Minutes of One Day Workshop on NPTEL( National Programme on Technology Enhanced Learning) held on 21.11.15 at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering Kanjirapally, Kottayam, Kerala

NPTEL awareness workshop hosted by Electronics and Communication Engineering department of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirapally, Kottayam district, Kerala was started with prayer at 9.45am followed with welcome address by Prof. K G Satheeshkumar coordinator and HoD ECE. Rev Dr. Jose Kannampuzha, Principal of the college presided over the function and delivered the Key note address. The workshop was inaugurated by lighting the lamp by Prof. Andrew Thangraj, NPTEL Coordinator, IIT Madras, Ms. Bharathi Balaji and Dr. K Karunakaran Nair.

The registration started at 9 am and program commenced at 9.45 am as per the schedule. There were 62 external participants from 32 colleges and 38 internal participants from various departments of the college.

Prof Andrew Thangraj has led Session 1 “NPTEL and its Features”. Resumed at 11.40 after tea break with Session 2 “Online Certification Courses” by Prof Andrew Thangraj and Session 3 “NPTEL Local Chapter” by Ms Bharathi Balaji, Project Officer, followed by Question and answer session.

Many participants enquired about the possibility of uploading the video lectures made by the faculty from outside IIT and IIScs. Everyone commented about the program as being really useful and informative.

Prof Thangaraj distributed the certificate to all the participants.

Prof. Indu Reena Varghese, AP of ECE department extended the vote of thanks.

Lunch was served at 2.15 pm and the program was over by 3.30 pm with TA distribution to the external participants.
