Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering — fueling innovation and driving the future through academic excellence, industry-aligned learning and holistic student development since 2004.
The Department of Mechanical Engineering has been committed to academic excellence, innovation and holistic student development since its establishment in 2004.
With a strong foundation supported by autonomous status, an industry-aligned curriculum and a dedicated faculty team, the department strives to create future-ready engineers. The journey began on 28th July 2004 with an initial intake of 40 students, gradually flourishing through the teamwork of dynamic and experienced faculty members.
In 2009, the department expanded its horizon with a PG course in Machine Design. In 2011, the B.Tech intake was increased to 120 students, aided with "state-of-the-art" laboratories and computational facilities in all core fields of mechanical engineering.
Today, emphasis is placed on hands-on learning, research and interdisciplinary exposure through minor programmes and advanced specialisations such as Electric Vehicle Technology. The NBA-accredited programme reflects a continuous commitment to quality and improvement.
The department offers a complete mechanical engineering education pipeline — from undergraduate admission through specialised postgraduate study and doctoral research:
Through the Smart Engineering Spine — a unique AI-integrated curriculum overlay — our students engage with Industry 4.0, smart manufacturing, electric mobility and digital engineering across every semester. Interdisciplinary minors in AI & Data Science, Smart Manufacturing, Industrial Engineering, Quality Management and Metallurgical & Materials Engineering provide even greater flexibility.
The department welcomes aspiring engineers to be part of a vibrant ecosystem of learning, innovation and excellence. Pursuing Mechanical Engineering at AJCE is more than just a choice — it's a stepping stone to a future of excellence and innovation.
