The Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) maintains 10 state-of-the-art laboratories in Divisional Block C, equipped with industry-standard tools and testing equipment.

Vehicle Systems & Reconditioning Lab

A specialised research facility dedicated to the study, design, and development of various vehicle systems — powertrains, electrical components, vehicle dynamics, control systems, safety features, and autonomous driving technologies. The primary goal is to advance vehicle performance, efficiency, safety, and sustainability.

Autotronics & Vehicle Testing Lab

Focuses on the integration of automotive electronics (autotronics) with vehicle performance and safety testing. Serves as a research and development hub for studying and testing electronic systems embedded in modern vehicles — control units, sensors, actuators, and communication networks.

Thermal Engineering Lab

Provides students opportunities to learn about different types of IC engines, analyse boiler performance, and conduct performance, heat balance, retardation, and emission tests on a range of IC engines using mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic loading devices.

Advanced Machine Tools Lab (CNC)

The manufacturing industry has made a quantum leap from conventional methods to CNC technology. This state-of-the-art training centre offers advanced training in CNC programming and machining. Students gain knowledge and experience in CNC programming, basic machining processes, tool and fixture setup and adjustment.

Techz-in lab focuses on providing a better overview of mechanical and aerospace engineering technologies. It offers hands-on learning in the operation and maintenance of complex engine systems, including aircraft engines and ship generator engines. The lab is equipped with various cut-section models.
