Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering — established in 2009 and built on the Future Mobility Spine with five industry Centres of Excellence.
Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally.
The yardstick for measuring the developments of a nation is the number of automobiles it produces. India is a developing country and its automobile sector is fast growing. Most of the major automobile manufacturers have established their production units or assembly units in India. Even though there are occasional slumps in the automobile field, there is no doubt that the Indian automotive sector is growing — and the job market for qualified automobile engineers is ever increasing.
The university curriculum may not always be in tune with the demands of the industry, but the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) is ready with add-on courses to bridge the gap. Courses on Automobile Electronics, Engines and Chassis Design, Engine and Vehicle Testing are among our offerings — besides hot-cake courses like CAD and CNC machine programming. Students are requested to contact their class teachers for further information.
In-house internships, industry-certified skill courses, and national participation in BAJA, Supra and Formula Student competitions ensure our graduates are industry-ready from day one. The SAEINDIA Collegiate Club provides global automotive engineering exposure through industry visits, technical lectures and student design contests.
The department offers undergraduate education and research opportunities focused on automobile engineering, supported by industry-grade facilities and dedicated Centres of Excellence:
The AAA — the Automobile Association of Amal Jyothi — brings together faculty and all students of the department. Since 2011, AAA has organised invited talks, industrial visits and project exhibitions, providing a platform for automobile aspirants to learn, discover, create and rebuild.
