Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering — established in 2009 and built on the Future Mobility Spine with five industry Centres of Excellence.

Welcome to the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering, Kanjirappally.

The yardstick for measuring the developments of a nation is the number of automobiles it produces. India is a developing country and its automobile sector is fast growing. Most of the major automobile manufacturers have established their production units or assembly units in India. Even though there are occasional slumps in the automobile field, there is no doubt that the Indian automotive sector is growing — and the job market for qualified automobile engineers is ever increasing.

Bridging the university – industry gap

The university curriculum may not always be in tune with the demands of the industry, but the Department of Mechanical Engineering (Automobile) is ready with add-on courses to bridge the gap. Courses on Automobile Electronics, Engines and Chassis Design, Engine and Vehicle Testing are among our offerings — besides hot-cake courses like CAD and CNC machine programming. Students are requested to contact their class teachers for further information.

Our graduates are ready for the next automotive era — shaped by five industry Centres of Excellence, ASDC-recognised training programmes and a curriculum deliberately aligned with where the automotive industry is going, not just where it has been.

Our industry partners & Centres of Excellence
