Activities

  • The Fig Tree lecture series was launched on 7th April 2015 evening with a 10-minute talk titled, “can ‘fools’ be successful in life?” by Mr Bini Koshy Varghese (ME). The event was continued daily for the entire year.
  • A training program for students and faculty titled “Buffet Etiquette & How to Use A Fork and Knife” was conducted on 15 October 2015.
  • A training programme was organised for the faculty by the Career Enhancement Cell in association with National Institute for Development of Youth and sponsored by Amal Jyothi College of Engineering on 18th and 19th July 2016.
  • An orientation program for first-year students is conducted every year by the department to help them adapt to the new environment.
  • A series of lectures on the six subjects of Nobel Prizes- 2019 were collectively organized by the department of Humanities and Basic Sciences in connection with Nobel Laureate Week, from 28th October to 15th November 2019.
  • A webinar titled "Enhancing Effectiveness of Online Learning” to adapt educators to the virtual environment of teaching was conducted on 17th June, 2020 at 10:00 AM. Binu Thomas (Coordinator IQAC and Joint Director Marian Institute for Innovative Teaching Learning) and Evaluation and Mr. Joe A Scaria (Former Senior Editor, Economic Times and Professor at Amal Jyothi College) handled the sessions.
  • An international Digital Conclave on “Innovations in Teaching-Learning, a Global Perspective" was conducted, in association with Marian College Kuttikanam, on 14th, 15th & 16th July 2020. Global experts shared their experience about the usage of innovative practices in teaching-learning methodology.
  • The Department of Humanities, Department of Basic Sciences and Amal Jyothi Centre for Nanoscience & Technology jointly conducted the Lectures on Nobel Prizes- 2020, from 07-09 December 2020.
  • Innovations revolutionize the world and to know about the recent innovations, the Department of Humanities, Amal Jyothi Centre for Nanoscience & Technology and the Department of Basic Sciences jointly organized the Lectures of Nobel Prize 2021 in Amal Jyothi College of Engineering from 07 to 10th December, 2021 at Research Square 106.
  • The Department of Humanities, Amal Jyothi Centre for Nanoscience & Technology and the Department of Basic Sciences jointly organized the Lecture series on Nobel Prize Laureates 2022 at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering from 19th to 21st December, 2022 at Research Square 106.
  • The Department of Humanities and the Department of Basic Sciences jointly organized the Nobel Prize Lecture series 2023 at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering from 8th to 10th January 2024 at Research Square 106.
  • The Department of Humanities, in collaboration with AJECS organized two online competitions-Photography and Cartoon drawing for our students from 16th to 19th March, 2024.
  • The Department of Humanities, in collaboration with AJECS, successfully organized 'War of Words', a much-anticipated Debate Competition aimed at showcasing participants' oratory skills and intellectual prowess. Prelims were held from 9th to 11th April 2024 and the finals were conducted on 16th April 2024.
  • Women Development Cell in association with the Department of Humanities and Basic Science conducted a meme competition " Unapologetically Me: Meme Competition on 12th November 2024.
