Established in 2013, the Department of Chemical Engineering is a place where innovative research and outstanding instruction coexist in a thriving academic community. Each member of staff in Chemical Engineering is committed to looking after our students to the best of our ability, as well as fostering links with industry. We currently provide instruction and training to over 250 students. Chemical Engineering at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering is one of the most sought engineering undergraduate programs in Kerala and the pass rate of our students is over 75% with significant number of former students employed as technical and managerial personnel in chemical and allied industries.

A chemical engineer is concerned with the entire development of a new product or process on an industrial scale and the Bachelor of Technology (B. Tech.) in Chemical Engineering at Amal Jyothi College of Engineering will prepare you towards this profession. You will learn to deal with chemical processes on a large scale, to develop new chemical products and to design processes for targeted reactions. You will also learn to evaluate and improve the safety and sustainability of chemical processes. Simultaneously, you will be also motivated to develop your critical thinking skills and your problem-solving attitude. At the undergraduate level, we offer specialized elective courses, extensive incubation and start up opportunities for students. At the post graduate level, students work closely with individual faculty members on topics that span all of nanotechnology and environmental engineering, and go on to pursue careers in industry, the academics and governmental jobs. To meet the current challenges, our Department is working to improve its educational and research program. Located in the sprawling hills of Kanjirappally of Kottayam district in Kerala, we combine an innovative educational experience with many opportunities for practical training, connections to local industry, professional societies along with providing our students with cutting-edge research opportunities, transformative educational growth and professional development.
