Welcome to the Department of Basic Sciences — an approved research centre of APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University, where the foundations of Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry meet rigorous interdisciplinary research.
The Department of Basic Sciences has been an integral part of Amal Jyothi College of Engineering since its inception — evolving and growing in methodology of teaching, research output and the diversity of research pursued.
The faculty comprises qualified, goal-oriented members whose research expertise covers major frontier areas in Mathematics, Physics and Chemistry. The department has built a reputation for combining fundamentals-first teaching with an active culture of scholarship.
The Department of Basic Sciences is an approved research centre of the APJ Abdul Kalam Technological University with four approved research guides. We promote collaboration among our faculty, with other Amal Jyothi faculty, and with researchers at other institutions, industry, and government laboratories.
Faculty members have contributed to academics by publishing books, research articles in journals, papers at conferences, and delivering guest lectures. The department organises National Conferences, Workshops and Faculty Development Programmes for the benefit of academicians and industry alike.
The Department has set high academic standards, with several faculty consistently achieving 100% results in both undergraduate and post-graduate classes every semester. Our purpose is clear: every engineering and computer-applications graduate who leaves AJCE does so with a genuine grasp of the scientific foundations that underpin their discipline.
